job description

The Field Operations Manager Plans and manages all the Field Operations activities (Installation, Tests & Commissioning) for the project in support to the Project Manager, in line with the project strategy to deliver the committed performance in terms of Quality, Costs and Deadlines and in compliance with Alstom policies, local standards and regulations (in particular EHS and Railway Safety).
The Field Operations Manager position reports directly to the Regional Center Field Operations Director, with a Dotted report line to Project Manager(s).

Network & Links:

 Project Manager and project Core Team
 Regional Center Field Operations Engineering and Execution management.
 Regional Center EHS Management.
 Customer and suppliers (sub-contractors, partners).

Specific responsibilities of the role:

 Pro-actively manages the internal interfaces with Project Engineering, Industrial and Warranty, and the external interfaces with Partners, third parties and Customers.
 Delivers and maintains Installation Test & Commissioning Plans in compliance with standard processes.
 Manages bill of material and procedures required to Install and commission the specified systems.
 Prepares and monitors the execution of field activities, reports the progress and permanently focuses on the delivered performance.
 Ensures the EHS compliance (Zero deviation), reports and anticipates issues.

your contribution

Education :

Highly qualified technician or Engineer degree level or equivalent education or experiences
Candidate must have a project/general management commercial background

Desired Knowledge / Experience :

· 2 to 5 years’ experience in Project Management
· Experience of railway industry (preferred but not essential)
· Experience of management by Quality, Cost and Delivery objectives
· Knowledge of best practice Project Management processes, tools and techniques

Technical Skills & Competencies :

· Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to fulfil role of interface manager with both the customers and partners
· Quality focused
· Ability to write and speak in English; fluency in French
